MASTER-PRESS 2002

The journalists have the opportunity of getting to the epicentre of "Master Rallye 2002" events by a "Press-vehicle".

Participation in the "Master-press" category requires: a press-card (journalist’s ID), official representation of mass media, accreditation by "Master Rallye 2002" Organizational Committee.

Every crew may consist of maximum 4 persons and minimum 2. The press-vehicle is by no means allowed to move with just 1 person on board.

The team of the press-vehicle is responsible for its vehicle, passengers and their behaviour during the whole race. The team must obligatory consist of persons accredited with "Press" category except the driver. (If mass media would like to apply a press-vehicle with the driver without a press-card, then his accreditation must be submitted to the Organizational Committee in the proper way).

Applications in "Master Rallye" category are to be sent to the Organizational Committee. 1st fee - 50% of 1300 euro per person - must be paid before July 13, 2002.

After July 13, 2002 no applications will be accepted.

The entrance fees in "Master Rallye" category include: civil liability insurance, medical insurance repatriation, bivouacs; breakfast, rations, dinner, shower, prize-giving party, road-book, working place in the press-centres of the competition at the start and finish, and in bivouacs.

These fees do not include: journey to St.Petersburg and return from Novorossiisk of the team and vehicle, fuel, the compulsory rent of the emergency beacon and GPS, hotels and restaurants outside the bivouacs, visas, the raid press-centre communication services, and the vehicle insurance.

In case of participant’s refusal, transfer or cancellation of the competition, the procedure of compensating the entrance fee is the same as one for participants. The Organizational Committee has the right to turn down the press-car or/and one of the crew members’ application without any explanation.

Two types of press-vehicle are specified: "press-race" and "press-raid".

The "press-race" vehicle can follow the race, raid or assistance courses. It must be an off-road 4x4 vehicle corresponding to the standard FIA Regulations safety parameters in respect of vehicles category T1. This vehicle also must be properly equipped. The vehicles with the diesel engine are most recommended. If the crew consists of 3-4 persons the vehicle must obligatory have 4 side doors.

The "press-raid" vehicle must follow either the raid course with fixed places of access to the specials, or the assistance course. The "press-raid" vehicle may have 1 or 2 driving axles. It can be a serial car without any special preparation, but it must correspond to the traffic regulations and be compulsorily equipped with: 2 spare wheels, 20 litres can for fuel, towing cable (not shorter than 5 metres), GPS of any model, the emergency beacon.

All press-cars with their full crews have to pass all the administrative and technical verifications in St.Petersburg.

An non-encashed deposit from every press-car is 1525 euro.
