Monuments, interesting and unusual things:
In Lukhovitsi – the church of Kazan (1754).
11 km to the north-east of Lukhovitsi, the village of Dedinovo was already known in the 15th century. In the 17th century, it was one of the big river boat-building centres (in 1667-69 “Aigle” (eagle) one of the first Russian military boats was built in the local shipyard).
15 km to the south-east of Lukhovitsi is to be found the old village of Perevitsk, evidently founded in the 11th century. Mentioned for the first time in 1381 as the outpost of the north-west boundaries of the Principality of Riazan, it entered into the composition of the state of Moscow at the beginning of the 16th century. With the loss of its strategic functions, this city, protective in its time, has been transformed into a simple village which is called Perevitski Torjok today.
